ANNELOES LEIJSSEN
STRATEGIST
I work with cities, organizations and businesses to develop programmes, partnerships and platforms that create cultural, social and economic value.
Too often we underestimate arts, culture and sustainability as investments. They are crucial to the future of economies, organizations and communities. Strategically positioned and properly invested in, they attract people, build identity and drive growth.
My work has ranged from positioning brands, people and agendas on issues including sustainability, DEI, the arts and health. I co-founded Open Studios Penang, connecting artists, institutions, businesses and audiences in one platform.
I bring fifteen years of experience working across sectors and cultures in Europe and Southeast Asia. I hold a Master in Communication Science and Popular Culture from the University of Amsterdam, with a major in Media Studies from the University of Copenhagen.
Alongside my advisory work, I research and write about how digital life is changing our attention, behaviour and culture, and what this means for society.
What becomes possible when we stop treating culture as an extra, and start using it as part of how we build the future?
